LEAGUE TOO COSTLY
CUTTING DOWN EXPENSES Australian Presi Association. (Received 12th September, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, 11th September. The Australian Press Association representative at Geneva says that Mr. Baillieu conferred at length with tho British finance experts with a view of a combined campaign to reduce the ever-growing League Budget, which is now £1,080,000. Many items are regarded as quite outside tho League's domain; for example, research into the habits of deep-sea fish-; also the. ramifications of the International Labour Office, which smack of a poli^cal rather than an international character.
