PETONE CLUB
The annual general meeting of the Petone Bowling Club was held on Thursday evening last in the club's pavilion. The club record with deep regret the death of the following esteemed members, Messrs. E. C. Kirk and J. Arcus, also Mr. 'C. J. Emery, caretaker. The annual report and balance-sheet, which shows the club in a satisfactory financial position, was passed and adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mr. C. E. Harman; vice-president, Mr. T. M'Arthur; hon. secretary, Mr. E. A. Urwin; hou. treasurer, Mr. E. P. Smyrk; management, committee, Messrs; H. Appleyard, 0. Silbery, P. M'Arthur, R. Lippitt, G. Burns, R. W. Dixon; also the chairman of the green, match and refreshment committees; match committee, Messrs. O. Silbery, C. H. Beynon, and P. M'Arthur; delegate on Wellington Centre, Mr. A. Coles; delegates on Hutt Valley Tournament Committee, Messrs. P. C. Walton, P. L. Paul, and P. M'Arthur; lion, auditors, Messrs. E. S/ Jones and F. Wilkinson, Dr. Ker'rHislop was elected a life member. A resolution was carried expressing appreciation of the Summer Time Act as a great benefit to the general body of the people. .■
