SENIOR B GRADE
After a willing game at Priuce of Wales Park Wellington gained a victory over Training College. When Wellington ran up 11 points in quick time it seemed as i£ the result wpuld be another big score against Technical' College, but a good recovery by the latter team left the result' in doubt until the last minute. The teams werer— Wellington.—Mitchell, Carter, Veitch, Wright, „ Worthington, Webb, Jaggers, ■prendeville, Carter,. Humphrey, Gaudin/ Eraser, Herd, Sawera, Liverson. Training College.—Hills, Siet, Prince, Salter, .Macaskill, White, Brenton-Kulc, Dormer, Patchett, Truley, Bailey, Amadio, Mills, Macaskill, Welch, Geddings. College attacked with the wind and sun behind them, but an interception by Carter carried play down the field, where a passing rush saw Wright cross well out. Wellington kept up the attack, and Jaggers whipped round the scrum for the second try. College backs were notplay*: ing at their beat, and a weak 'attempt-at tackling let Veitch touch down in the corner, for Prendeville to convert. It was ■ now Training College's turn to attack, when a fine run by Fraser gained . ground for Brenton-Rule to get over the line from a scramble. With play more open, College were having the best of matters,- and Macaskill went over for a good try. Amadio converted. Carter scored for Wellington just before halftime. Play was very even in the second spell. College attacked, but Prendeville sent play down the line. The College forwards saved, and an infringement let Amadio convert a penalty. With only three points between the teams play became willing, but only a few minutes before >time Carter scrambled across, leaving Wellington the victors by 17 to 11. Mr. D. Paris was the refereu.
