OLD BOYS AND EASTBOURNE.

The match between Old Boys and Eastbourne, on the latter's ground, resulted in a decisive victory for the town team after a hard and fast game. Old Boys had a big advantage in weight, both in the forwards and in the backs, but notwithstanding this Eastbourne put up a commendable effort, and right up to the finish of the game their forwards were equal to making reply to the more solid set. Early in the game Eastbourne went close to scoring, • but, the efforts failing, Old Boys made reply, and following a lineout Bray scored. Malcolm's kick was charged down. 3-0. • The Old Boys' backs opened out soon afterwards, and Wylie made a great dash to score near the corner. Lamason failed with the kick. 6-0. Another rush by the Old Boys' pack forced the home team to defend. A clever, piece of work by Fitzmaurice enabled M'Donald to score, Malcolm converting. 11-U Once again Old Boys attacked, but a fast, open rush by the Eastbourne forwards ended in a free kick being awarded to. the home team inside Old- Boys' twenty-five. The play moved up and down' the field for some timo until a forward rush led by Lamapon arid M'Pherson resulted in Dv Chateau securing from the rush and scoring a few minutes.before half-time. The kick failed. 14-3. Eastbourne opened the second spell with a smart attack, but play was re-' turned, and a fine passing rush by the Old Boys' backs resulted in Wylie adding another try. Malcolm converted. 19-3. Once aprain Eastbourne rallied, and wove awarded a free kick inside half-way. E. Foley, however, failed, and Eastbourne were gradually forced back. Clarke made some brilliant saves for Eastbourne, but a free kick against them was successfully taken by Malcolm. 22-3. Later Grenfell picked up in the rush near Eastbourne's line and added another try. 25-3, A final effort by Eastbourne resulted in Murray scoring. L, Folpy's kick. missed. The
