HOSPITAL 2, Y.M.C.A.

The weather was ideal for the meeting of Hospital and Y.M;C.A. at Porirua. The teams were:— V.M.C.A.—Lucas; Prince, M'Girr; Pearson, Eeyliiig, Trott; AA'orth, Lack, Eigby, Ballai-d, Stocks. Hospital.—Trewick; Thompson, Gibb; Souter, Jeffreys, Simon; M'Bride, AA'hite, Anderson, Marshall, Lambert. ■- From the kick-off, Hospital nt once made for Lucas, and a good run by Lambert was well stopped by Prince, who,' with a big kick, sent Worth away on the right. He passed to Lack, and dangerous play for Hospital was stopped by Thompson, who sent to Jeffreys. The latter made ground, and passed to White, whose shot went behind. Hospital kept pressing, and a good run was made by AVhite. Rigby made a great run and passed to Lack, who beat the backs and with only Trewiek to beat sent behind. Trott sent Eigby away with a nice pass, but Trewiek made a great save, and then Lack sent behind. Soiitar let M'Bride away. The latter passed to Anderson, but ho was well stopped by M'Girr. Gibb let Marshall away, but with an open goal the latter sent behind. Gibb, on the half-way line, sent a great kick across the goal to Lambert, who, with his head, placed the ball well out of Lucas's reach. Hospital 1, Y.M.C.A. 0. The Y.M. backs were hard pressed to keep out Anderson. The latter worked in a good position, and scored with a fast shot. Half-time was called with Hospital leading, 2.-0. After half-time V.M.C.A. tried lo make up lost ground. Lack almost got through, but Gibb saved well and passed to Jctfreys, who transferred to Anderson.- AVhen i Anderson was beating M'Girr, the latter handled in the penalty area. Gibb took the kick, but Lucas made a.great save. A shot by Reyling was turned for a corner by Trewiek. Ths ball was well placed by Stocks. Lack headed in, Trewiek only half-saving, and Rigby followed through to score. Hospital' 2, V.M.C.A. 1. After I this, Y.MIC.A. kept up a- hot attack, and had twelve corners to Hospital s one. Young Men were unable to score. Mr. Stewart was the referee.
