INSTITUTE V. SEATOUN.
At Seatoun Park, Institute defeated Seatoun by 5 E"ils to 2. Although the ground was on the heavy side, the play never slackened, and was interesting throughout. The teams were:— Institute: Kusterholtz; Gill, Bell; Byng, Brownlee, Coronno; Bilby, Maddocks, Dickenson, May, Smith. Seatoun: Wyatt; Newton, DiffiU; Jenkins, Kershaw, M'William; N. Grimstone, Telford, Kinder, M'Kenzie, Smyth. Seatouu kicked off against the sun and rushed the play to the Institute goal, jnst missing with a shot that hit the 'upright. Shortly after. Grimstone finished a forward movement with a good centre, and lelford, his inside partner, licaded in to score Seatoim's first goal. Institute took up the attaekKand their reward came when Smith, on the left wing, put in a low shot which Wyatt fumbled and Jet
through. The next goal also went to. In- I stitute, when from a m<*lee in the goal mouth, Maddocks headed through, giving Wyatt, who was at the other end of the goal, not much chance. A goal in the lead, Institute pursued their advantage. Two more shots looked like finding the net, but Wyatt was safe. Then a splendid forward rush on the part of the local men gave Smyth a scoring chance, but he shot above the bar. Scatoun all but scored again from a rush into goal, Eusterlioltz kicking clear. Play swung into the Blue's territory, where Dickenson put in a beautiful rising shot from the side line, which ran along, the crossbar, but did not go in. However, it was not long before;. Maddocks beat.AVyutt for Institute's third goal. v . Play in the first half was fairly evenly divided,'but in the second, Scatoun took more than their opponents did. From the kick-off, they forced matters, getting three corners in succession, but with no success. A penalty gave them a chance, but Kcrs'haw's shot went wide. Continuing, the local team tried strenuously' to goal. Griinstone, in particular, put in many fine centres which the inside men failed to take advantage. of. Occasional raids'by the Institute forwards ended in Dickenson scoring again, and not fivo .inimites later the same player secured Institute's fifth goal. In a failing light, Seatonn returned to the offensive, and just before the end, Duflill ran up and transferred to Smyth, who scored with.a high shot. The final whistle went leaving Institute the winners by 5 goals to 2. Mr. F. Diclc refereed..
