Gazette"* sayi that, despite the Washington Conference outlawing gas warfare, a provi. sional army order has been issued civ. ing fnll instructions for combating nkm attacks. It states that the British trovernment will endeavour to obtain from its enemies in the event of war an agreement not to employ poison gas; otherwise Britain will take action, as the circumstances demand. Aerial gas attacks must be expected, liquid poison, such as mustard gas, being sprayed from tanks attached to aircraft from which it will fall like rain. The order describes the respirators to be used, and advises the construction of gas-proof shelters for collective protection.
