WELLINGTON'S DECJSION
A special meeting of the Manaee* ment Committee of the WellinztSif Hockey Association was held to-day to 1 discuss a communication from Canterbury in regard to the Shield tourna-f ment at Auckland. It was stated that Canterbury had last night communicated with Wellington to the effect thai junior players were being included inj the Southern team, owing to the dim x culty of securing sufficient senior players to make the trip. In a message to-day, however, it was stated thai 1 the Canterbury entry would be with? drawn. The meeting, which -was calU ed primarily to see whether a locai team, including junior players, mighti be sent despite the original decision mi withdraw Wellington's entry, decided*to adhere to its resolution. In conse4 quence no team from Wellington wiiH visit Auckland.
