HIS CLUB'S EULOGY
TRIBUTE TO LATE MR. MARK
The following resolution, passed by the committee of the Auckland Trotting Club, fittingly expresses the sentiments of members of that organisation and the trotting fraternity generally in regard to the lengthy service rendecrd to the pastime by the late Mr. C. F. Mark:—
"The Auckland Trotting Club, by its committee, and the committee as a body, and the members of the committee each in his private capacity, with feelings of deep sorrow and regret, record this day the passing away of its capable and trustworthy secretary and respected friend, Charles F. Mark, and whilst the death of the club's esteemed servant is so recorded, it is our desire to set forth for all time our acknowledgment of his devoted services in the interests of the club, and the sport of trottinc for upwards of 30 years.
"It would be futile to particularise in any way the services so rendered, and we purposely refrain from so doing, being content to say, that in every way, on every occasion, and at all times, the interests of this club always had and received the full benefit of every effort of which he was capable, including the benefit of his
wide experience and rare judgment. The club has lost its most devoted, faithful servant; the sport or trotting has lost the services of one of its honoured leadera, and we personally have lost an esteemed friend in whom we could always put our trust. " " "We are deeply appreciative of the great loss which his family has sustained, and extend our heartfelt sympathy to and condolence with his widow and sons."
