Xhe following rates Were struck for the period Ist April, 1927, to 31st March W>B and will be formally confirmed by the council on 12th August:— (1) A general rate of 3'/id in the £ on fte unmoved value (£131,000) in the East Ward, and of 5 3-8 don the unimproved value (£76,500) in the West Ward(2) a water maintenance rate of l-8d for users, and 1-lfid for non-users in the East Ward; (3) a Hospital and charitable aid rate of Id in the £ in each ward- (i) a consolidated interest rate of l%d j n the East Ward; (5) a sanitation charge ot 2os on all rateable property in the East and West Wards on which a building is erected, and from which the council is prepared to remove nightsoil. The whole of the rates are due and payable in one instalment on 7th September of this year.
