The Dunedin City Council, at its meeting last nighty decided to give public notice of its intention to apply for a loan of £5000 to cover the cost of works for all the unemployed. A special meetingoof the finance committee will Be held to-day to give further consideration to the proposal, and a special meeting of the City Council will be'called later.
