CANADIANS WIN AGAIN (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERBTON N., This Day. In a Soccer match the Canadians defeated Manawatu to-day by 6 goals to nil. The game was below expectations. The Maple-leafers could have inflicted a bigger defeat, although the team they put on the field was perhaps the weakest yet, probably in view of the coming Wellington game, for which they no doubt are reserving their best players. Playing conditions to-day were good. There was an almost entire absence of wind. The Canadian forward line combined well, and Manawatu saved goals by clustering round the goal and successfully getting in the way of the ball. The headwork, for which the Canadians earned a big reputation, was not much in evidence. Their play for the most part consisted of clever passing by the forwards and hard kicking by the fullbacks. Only occasionally was the Mapleleaf goalie called upon to abandon his restful pose against the goal post. Halftime ended with a Manawatu forward movement which was almost successful. Play livened up to some extent in the second half, but again the Canadians had the major share of the ball, and were evidently taking things easy.
