CHEISTCHUBCH, This Day. A long spell of dry weather was broken yesterday by rain which fell in, showers beginning in early morning, and continued all day. Although tho rain was not heavy, it gave tho surface of the ground a fairly good soaking, and should do an immense amount of good to gardens and fields. A cold southerly gale 'accompanied the rain during the day.
