The second day of the Egmont Winter Meeting opened in showery weather. There is a large attendance. The track is soft. Results:—
Ngamutu Hack Handicap, of 175 soys; sis furlongs.—6 Toapaiti, 7.0 (Adlam), 1; 5 Denier, 7.10, 2; 4 Onward, 7.12, 3. All started. Won by two lengths, three-quarters of a length between second and third. Time, lmin 16sec.
Manawapou Hurdles Handicap, of 200 soys; one mile and a half. — i Zircon, 10.10 (Coleman), 1; 8 Troilus, 9.0, 2; 1 Elvaette, 10.10, 3. All started. Won by a neck, two lengths between second and third. Time, 2min 50sec. Adamson Steeplechase.Handicap, of 300 soys; two miles.—s Gilgai, 9.0 (Jenkins), 1; 2 Eonmark, 10.1, 2;.3 Passin' Through, 11.9, 3. Peter Rosa. Won by two lengths, with four lengths between second and third. Time, 4min 6Jsee.
