DULL WEATHER

RAIN TO BE EXPECTED

The weather conditions Lave been dominated by two disturbances, which at present arc centred respectively off Capo Egmout and South of New Zealand. Owing to their proximity, the winds,. which . yesterday chiefly were north-easterly, are now more variable. For instance, this mprning westerlies wore in evidence at Cape Maria Van Diemen; easterlies at; Taurajjga; northeasterlies at East Cape; southerlies at Kawhia; northerlies at Cape Campbell; south-easterlies at Farewell Spit, while at Puysegur Point the wind was west-south-westerly. Bull and misty weather has overspread most of tho country, and rain was falling at 9 o'clock this morning in the northern half, of the North Island. The indications /are for strong and variable winds, giving place to southerlies soon. Unsettled, dull, and foggy conditions are forecasted, with rain generally. Heavy Tain is probable in many parts of tho North Island, with snow in the high country in tho South. Colder conditions may be expected everywhere soon.
