The latest effort, just announced, consists of the formation of a church committee, composed of the leading Anglican Bishop and minister, a Catholic jriest, and a Jewish rabbi, which has announced that churches must share the responsibility for present conditions, because too often they are content to criticise the theatre wholesale instead of discriminating between worthy and unworthy plays and'lending their influence to support those really meritorious. Sermons in many churches to-day dealt with the theatre, and in several cases addresses were made' by theatrical people. ,
