ELECTRIC LIGHT SPORTS.
With the many champions competing and the good entries received for all events, there should be some very close finishes at the Wellington Athletic Centre s electric light sports meeting at the Basin Reserve to-night. An interesting event, no doubt, will be the three-quar-ter-mile cycle championship, in which Wellingtons-foremost riders ivill betaking part. Several other cycle races are provided in the programme. Among the athletes a good deal of interest will be attached to the appearance of R. A. Rose, who will be opposed by the y.oung Selwyn runner, J. Barnes, in the one-mile handicap. A good race is expected in the contest between J. Fleming, the New Zealand quarter-mile champion, and the New Zealand ladies' champion relay team. The last time such a race was staged the ladies' team defeated the then champion, W. Kyle. ■.-■■:
