EMPRESS THEATRE.

Two pictures distinctly different in theme are on the current change at the Empress Theatre. In "Drusilla With a Million" Mary Carr is cast as a charity inmate of a home for-aged ladies, who suddenly inherits £1,000,000. She spends the million in converting her home into a refuge for unwanted babies.. The arrest of a young girl who has left her baby offers a chance for a scheming lawyer to make a case against Drusilla. An heir to a million has been cut off by his father after a cafe scene, and has married Sally, an orphan, who makes a man of him. The lawyer's daughter covets'the family fortune, and it is through her that the young couple are separated. Priscilla Bonner and Kenneth Harlan, enact the romantic roles, while Mary Carr's work is exceptional. In "The Boy Friend," Marceline Day, Johnny Harron, Ward Crane, and Gertrude Astor present a simple little tale of a smalltown girl who has had her head turned i>y a New Yorker and who is prevented by her small-town lover from going to the cdty with the immaculate visitor.
