OLD BOYS LEAD KILBIRNIE.
Moderate scoring marked the match between Kilbirnie and Old Boys at Kilbirnie. With first use of the wicket the home side could do no better than reach 169 of which F. T. Badcock, who appears to be in very aggressive mood just now, claimed 5!!. Badcock'was the only batsman who really mastered the bowling, and he gave a display that was well worth watchmln Er?, n (29)> Lan 8 t22)» Redmond (15), and Greig (11) .were the only other double figure scorers. The veteran selec-tor-player (K. H. Tucker) was in great bowling trim, and his slows caused great havoc m the Kilbirnie ranks. Tucker accounted for seven wickets^at a cost of 61 ™nf- He was ably assisted by James, the Wellington and New Zealand wicketkeeper, who claimed five victims—four stumped and one caught. James was responsible tor one of the best displays of keeping seen in club cricket for a very long time. In their reply, Old Boys had lost eight wickets for 174 runs when stumps were drawn. Dustin was top scorer with 37 and. Ronaldson was unbeaten at the end of the day with 35 to his credit. Others • r && well weTe Tuoker (33) and Patrick (32).
