BOOKMAKERS CONVICTED

TIMABU, This Day. At the Magistrate's Court, before Mr. C. E. Orr-Walker, S.M., A. Huston and W. Karton were charged with keeping a common gaming house and with bookmaking, and C. Sloacombe was charged with assisting Karton in the running of a comon gaming house. ..■ The second charge against the first two was withdrawn by the'police. All the accused pleaded guilty, and were each fined-£IOO. Sloacombe was allowed one week in which to pay.
