PROTEST AGAINST FINDING
(By telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") PALMERSTON' N., This Day. Since the publication, of the finding of the Commission appointed to investigate the Manawatu-Oroua River Board's scheme for deviating the lower roaches of the Manawatu River to eliminate floods, several of the local bodies who will be called upon to contribute to the cost of the work have been, considerably agitated in that they will have to find fairly large sums of money. ~.
When the Commission sat these local bodies endeavoured to show that the scheme would not benefit them to the extent that the River Board desired the Commission to believe. Tho report, therefore, came as something in the nature of a shock.
The outcome is that a meeting of protest is to be held on Friday cyening. ...
