A MEAN THEFT
I (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, 22nd December. I Robert John M'Nicol pleaded guilty before Justices of the Peace this morning to the theft of £5 belonging to George Clifford Eden. Senior-Sergeant Clarkson said that it was a particularly mean theft. The accused arrived from Nelson, and went to stay with Eden, sleeping in the same room. The money was taken from a coat pocket. Accused was at present on probation for a similar offence. He was sentenced to three months' hard labour, and ordered to make restitution of the stolen money.
