MO!ION FOR SUPPLY

NEW SOUTH WALES CRISIS

ELECTION AND STATE OF ROLLS

SENSATION DURING DEBATE.

(United Press Association.—Copyright.)

(Eoceived 30th November, 11 a.m.)

SYDNEY, This Day.

la the Legislative Assembly tho Premier, Mr. J. T. Lang, moved for Supply for four months, amounting to £1,420,----335, in accordance with the promise given in tho House last week. Mr. T. E. Bavin objected to the granting of Supply, contending that there was nothing to prevent the Government coming back to the House at the end of March and asking for further Supply, Mr. Bavin stated that he intended to divide the House on the motion for Supply unless it could be shown that ; the electoral rolls could not be ready within a month. The Colonial Secretary (Mr. C. C. Lazzarini) intimated that it would be impossible to have the rolls ready before March. If an election were held before then it would have to bo under the proportional representation system, with the 1924 rolls. A sensation was caused when Miss Preston Stanley declared that the Minister of Health (Mr. G. Cann) had of? fered to put through legislation in which she was interested if she would cross the floor to vote for an additional two months' Supply. Mr. Cann admitted that he .would put through the two Bills if Miss Stanloy would support him. The debate is expected to close today to enable the measure for Supply to be sent to tho Legislative Council.
