OIL SCANDALS

DOHENY AND FALL ON TRIAL

GOVEKNMENT SCOEE A POINT.

(United Presi Association.—Copyright.) (Becoived 30th November, noon.)

WASHINGTON, 29th Nov.

The Government scored an important point during the prosecution of Edward Doheny and A. B. Fall when the Court gave a decision which permitted the presentation of the evidence taken before the Senate Committee in 1923 and 1&24. This ruling has spread on record vital testimony regarding the sc-.recy surrounding Doheny's 100,000 dollar loan to Tall, the transfer of a sum in cash from New York to Washington in a little brown bag, the repeated denials of Fall that he rocoived money from Doheny, and his admittedly untrue assertion that ho received it from M'Lean.

A "Washington newspaper published the evidence only after it had been admitted following strenuous objections from the defence, after which Government counsel read to the jury the salient circumstances of the oil scandal investigation.
