BITTER COLD
HAIL AND RAIN IN AUCKLAND,
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, This Day.
Wintry weather prevailed in Auckland during the week-end. On Saturday a bitter wind brought in its train showers of hail and rain and the day was followed by a very cold night. Tho conditions yesterday wore dull and cold, but at midday the weather improved. There was a recurrence of showers in the evening. The mouth has been exceptionally wet. . The rainfall to 9 a.m. on Saturday was 6.65 inches, compared with 3.20 inches, the average rainfall for November. Tho wettest November for the past forty-two years was in 1916, when 7.74 inches wero recorded. The weather conditions on the AVest Coast improved yesterday morning, when the wind changed to the south. Afterwards the sea on tho Manukau bar moderated considerably, and the steamer Titoki, after being delayed at the heads for 30 hours, resumed her journey to AVellington.
