SNOW IN CANTERBURY.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, This Day.
Unusually cold weather prevailed during the week-end. Snow fell on Saturday on tho higher country and covered the hills to the foot. About an inch fell at Mount Somers township and five or six inches a few miles up the Ashburton Gorge.
