POLITICS IN MEXICO

ASSASSINATION AND PISTOL

FIGHTS.

(United Press Association. —Copyright.) (Rcutcr'B Telegram.)

MEXICO CITY, 25th August

Federal Congressman Jesus Pineda and a companion were assassinated at Co Una, presumably by political enemies, who killed them from* an ambush and then escaped undetected.

In this city a pistol battle between rivaj, Congressmen was prevented only by the intervention of soldiers guarding the Chamber of Deputies. The rivalry among them is so bitter that trouble is expected whenever they meet unguarded.
