t AN INTOXICATED MOTORIST.
In the early hours of Wednesday Frederick George Warlburton ran his motor-car upon the footpath, in Manners street, to avoid a tram car as he turned out of Farish street. . The motor-car was left on the footpath for some time, and when a constable came along he found Warlburton in a state o£ intoxication, and took him to the police station. He appeared .before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., yesterday, when Sub-Inspectov Harvey stated that Walburton had been before the Court previously for a similar offence, and had been fined. £5. It was stated by Mr. H. O'Leary that Warlburton had only had two whiskies last evening between 8 o'clock .and midnight. When the constable arrived the accused smelt of liquor, and undoubtedly had been influenced by the liquor he had had. Early this year, said counsel, Warlburton had had an accident, and the slightest drop of liquor affected him. Warlburton was fined £10, and his license was suspended for six months.
