PETONE—SELWYN.
Petone experienced littlo difficulty in totting up a cricket wcore against Selwyn. The Blue forwards annihilated the Green defence practically from the initial kickoff. Thomas, H. E. Nicholls, Corner, and Mark Nicholls.simply taking charge of the game. From the outset, despite valiant endeavours, the Selwyn pack were up against a hopeless proposition, fornot at any stage was a likelihood of their staying the persistent attacks of their opponents apparent. The Greens were lucky as it was in notching a solitary score—this by Mitchell from a free-kick. Mark Nicholls treated a goodly number of specta; tors to an exhibition of place-kicking, only once did he fail to add interest to a score. The game ended Petone .48, wyn 3. Thomas, H. E. Nichplls,. Corner, Welsh, Jowett, King, and Mark Nicholls were responsible for Petone s total, Mitchell registering Selwyn's points.
