FORTY-FOUR HOUR WEEK
STATE LAW OVERRULES FED-
ERAL AWARD.
(United Press Association—Copyright.) SYDNEY, 9th February. The Police Court Magistrate ruled that the New South Wales Forty-four Hours Week Act may be applied to employees working under a Federal award. The ruling arose out of an action by a member of tho Engineers' Union, in which was claimed a certain amount of overtime from the Clyde Engineering Company; which was deducted, as under the State award he worked only 44 hours, instead of 48, as provided by the Federal award. .
