SMALLPOX IN BRITAIN
SPREADING IN THE NORTH.

LONDON, 9th February.
Smallpox is spreading in the North of England. There are 30 cases at South Shields and 60 at Ashington. It is suggested that places of amusement in the infected towns should be closed and the people infected isolated in their homes with guardians' relief in lieu of wages. i
