GISBORNE, This Day. Cold and cheerless weather, with occasional rain squalls, is being experienced for the New Zealand championship ladies' hockey tourney, which opens this afternoon. A large number of visitors is attending. To-day's matches are :—
Section A : Poverty Bay A v. East Coast, Ruahine v. Gore.
Section B : Wellington v. Hawkes Bay, Southland v. Poverty Bay B.
