LODGE MEETINGS
Court Sir George Bowen, No. 5084, A.0.F., held its meeting at Rod's Buildings on Wednesday. night, Bvo. B. Sparks, C.R , presiding. The chief ranger extended a hearty welcome to Bro. Lomas (London) and many visiting brothers of other city courts. Bro. A. W. 0. Travers (secretary) reported that the matter of appropriation o£ the surplus funds of the court was receiving every attention. Bro. C. F. Worth, P.C.R., Bro. J. Lawrence, P.C.R., Bro. R. Griffiths, P.C.R. (trustees) received a hearty vote o£ thanks tor services rendered. Bro. J. Lawrence, P.C.R., in reply, stated that the court had invested the sum of £15,000, which was earning the current rate of interest. Three delegates were appointed to confer with the district executive and other city courts on the mattet of advertising the Order. Donations were made to two deserving brothers. An interesting discussion took place on friendly societies and hospital treatment. The court adjourned for supper.' ■ Bro. S. A. Griffiths, P.C.R., proposed the toast of ','Tho Visitors." Bro. E. Ansell. P.C.R.. Bro. H. Boniface, and Bro. Lomas (London) replied. Bro. R. F. Gider and Bro. W. H. Burberry -were- responsible for a pleasant evening's entertainment.
