DAMAGE CONFINED TO SMALL AREA

TOKIO,' 24th May. The latest reports show that the earthquake damage does not extend over more than 25 square miles, containing a population of 28,000. The total casualties are_ estimated at 1500, and the damage to property is estimated at seventy million yen. The cities of Osaka, Kobe, and Kyoto sustained no damage, either to life or property.
