TWO PLACES WIPED OUT
TOKIO, 24th May. Communication with the earthquake area ha 3 only been partially restored. It is stated that the deaths at Toyooka are not forcer than 500. Shironosaki, a health resort at ■ the foot of a high cliff, is reported to be completely buried by landslides. The deaths are 500. Kasugamura, a seaside village, was wiped out by a tidal wave. Eelief aeroplanes and trains have already gone to the stricken district. A few were injured in Osaka and Kobe owing to panic.
