HUTT PAIL AGAINST V.M.C.A.
Hutt never got going in their match with Y.JVJ.O.A. at Karori, and were hard put to it to keep the score down as it finally ended. Undoubtedly, they have given better displays, and therefore must^be allowed credit for being "off form," but Young Men nevertheless in their forward and back tactics proved well superior. Young Men scored almost immediately after play commenced from a shot by Atyeo. V.M.C.A. 1, Hutt 0. _ Hutt responded with' a rush from which Connell netted after a smart centre by Judd. V.M.C.A. 1, Hutt 1. Wadam soon got through for Youn<* Men, but Connell again was successful in equalising. V.M.C.A. 2, Hntt 2. White added another goal for V.M.C.A. beforo half-time. Tn t.li e second spell, Hutt could do nothing right. :ind were many times unsuccessful with circle
sticks of Atyeo and White, making the final score, V.M.C.A. 5, Hutt 2. Mr. W. Keys was referee.
HUIA v. TRAINING COLLEGE.
Huia held the upper hand throughout in their match with Training College, and won easily by a five-goal margin. Their forwards continually harried the Collegians, and on the few occasions when the latter broke through, the Huia backs proved equal to the task, and returned the ball down-field out of danger. Huia were first to score, Sawyer netting after good centring. Huia 1, Training College 0. Sykes equalised shortly before half-time. Huia 1, Training College 1. In the second spell Huia had things all their own way, and *dded five more goals without much dllfioulty. Of these Sawyer secured two, Yates two, and Butcher one. It was a game in which combination played an important part, and it was noticeable that a. Huia man was invariably in his place to secure a pass when a fellow-player was tackled. Mr. W. A. Scott was referee.
