THE SEASON'S PROSPECTS.

LONDON, 21st May.. Presiding at the annual meeting of the 1 Empire Cottou Growing Corporation, the Earl of Derby estimated the Empire crop of cotton in 192J.-25, exclusive of India, at 350,000 bales, compared with 219,000 in 1923-24, and 169,000-in 1922-23. It was decided to contribute £3000 yearly for the maintenance of experimental farms in Australia. The expert, Mi. Evans, recommended that a specialist be appointed in "Fiji to train demonstrate to assist the native cultivators.
