SYDNEY, This Day. According to the annual report of the Government Statistician, the population of New South Wales at the end of December was 2,256,649. an increase during the year of 45,643. Males number 1,152,057,- and females 1,104,592. The number of children under one year who died was 3191, or 59.5 per 10C0, which is 7 per cent, below the average of the previous five years. Cancer accounted for 2078 deaths, or .93 per ICoo—an increase of 9 per cent, above the average of the preceding five years.
