SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP
GOODSELL AND HANNAN TO ROW
NEXT MONTH.

SYDNEY, 20th May. Major Goodsell announces that he has accepted the challenge of J. P. Hannan, New Zealand, to row a, world's championship race on the Parramatta River on 27th June, if the date is acceptable to Hannan.
Major Goodsell states that articles will be signed when Hannan arrives, and Hannan's deposit of £100 will then bo covered to bind the match. Goodsell also announces that he will be prepared to row Tom Saul on Ist July and James Paddon on 25th July both matches to be on the Parramatta River and for a stake of £500 aside
J. P. Hannan expects to leave for Australio, to-morrow. He required £800 for nis deposit and expenses, and the whole of this amount was subscribed in Hamiln°lL and Blenheim with the exception of fc-'oO, winch Auckland sportsmen subscribed Residents of Tauranga havemade him the sift of a new boat, which will be built by George Towns, the famous Australian boat builder.
