BYLAW BREACHES

Breaches of the bylaws -were dealt with by Mr. C. R. Orr Walker, S.M., yesterday afternoon.

Failure to observe the regulations regarding the lighting o£ vehicles resulted in the following fines being imposed:— P. Bruun Pallasen, Doris Rowe, James Highman Russell,. Thomas Ryan, George Styles, 5s each; Henry Leslie- Churchward, 10s; Hilda Woolcott,, 15s; Claude Clarence Hawthorne, Leslie Rathbono. £1 each.

Exceeding the speed limit resulted in the following being lined the amounts stilted: —Kenneth Blako £2, Ernest ■Tolm Speight £2 10s, Eric Gordon Cropn £3.

For costing offensive matter on the street, John Paton Hurdy was fined 10b. Henry Albert Bush was fined £1 for driving past a stationary tramcar, and tor a similar offence Ernest Baldwin was fined £1 10s.

Alfred Frank Waller, who permitted a chimney to catch on fire, was ordered to pay costts, 7s.

Lindsay Ritchie Gilmour, who loft a. motor-car unattended, was fined 10s.

(For allowing stock to wander, the following fines were imposed :—James Feeloy, Alphonso Casey, 15a cacli; Alfred Aplin, £1; Septimus Knight, Arthur Lewer, £1 5s each; Robert Moore, £1 10s; Ernest Lewer, £2" 10s; William Cowley, who had an unlicensed dog was fined 10s.
