WELLINGTON CLUB
BOYS' TEAM ENTERTAINED.
Members of the fifth, sixth, anS seventh grade 'teams of the Wellington Football Club were the guests at a pleasant function at Dustin'a Rooms. Mr. G. C. -Fache, president.of the club, occupied the chair, and among others present to do honour to the boys were Messrs.'J. Thompson, H. Perry, and F. Bond (vice-presidents), G. H. Weir (club captain), G. H. Frater (hon. - eecreary), F. M'Greevy, and L. Douthett (coaches), and J. E. Joyce and H. S. I*. Symons (members of the Management Committee). ' The toasts of "The Ring," "The Wellington Football Club, ""The Teams," and "The Coaches" were honoured, and, during the course of the evening, congratulatory references were niado to tho very creditable records of the three teams; which were entirely new this season, this being the club's first venture in these grades!- The fifth team, with Mr. M'Greevy as coach, had made a good showing, despite the fact that, midway, through the season, it had sustained an extraordinary number of casualties.- The sixth' and seventh teams, though weak at the start, had shown a good: spirit and had finally developed into really good teams. Much credit for this result had been due to Mr. Bond, the organiser of. these teams, arid to his assistants, Messrs. Phillips and •Douthett. '■ •' ;
Under the leadership of Mr. Phil, lips, those present took part in community singing, and this, together with items contributed by Messrs. H. C. Trim, L. Douthett, and J. E. Joyce, made up an enjoyable programme.
