As the result of a motor accident ;:which, bccujred on the road near Mellings Railway Station on New, Yean's Day last, a civil action . was ■ commenced in the- Supreme Court this ■morning, claiming damages; The. parties were Lawrence James Purdie (plaintiff), represented by. Mr". o'. C. cM'azengarb and J. R. Crook, represented by Mr- H F. O'Leary. The Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) -was1 on.the Bench, and there was a jury of■-twelve. ■ '■ "-. V.
