Mr. E. Page, S,M.,..presided. at the Magistrate's- Court yesterday, when Arthur White, a second offender, "for drunkenness, was. fined 10s, in default 48 hours' imprisonment.
Appearing for- sentence on a charge of the theft of clothing and jewellery to the value_ of £21 10s, the property of Mrs. Morris T. Rapa, a youn 2 - waitress named Phyllis Grant was admitted to probation for. a period of three years. A special condition of her release is that she remains in the Salvation Army Homo for a period.
Charles Mills, a married man, pleaded not guilty at the Magistrate's Court on. Wednesday, before Mr.'W. G. Riddell S.M., to the theft of £100 from Robert Percy Moore, and £2 9s from the "Quick March" newspaper, and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Accused was represented by Mr C a' L. Treadwell.
