BLENHEIM. 10th June. ', Herbert Arthur Mac.lde appeared before Mr. T. Maunsell," S.M., on a charge of vagrancy. It -was stated (hat! Ma.ckie, who is 28 years of age, had! matriculated when 14. years of age. and i was addicted to drugs. He was found under the influence of drugs in a whare at Rivorlancls. Recently the premises of two Blenheim chemists were entered at' night, but the tills were untouched. The police inferred that jMackie had entered the premises in search of drugs. Tho police withdrew the charge of vagrancy on condition that Mackie entered the Nelson Mental Hospital as a voluntary boarder.
