POSTAL SALARIES
REVISION IN .CANADA STRIKE AGAINST REDUCTION THREATENED. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.) (KEUTEICS TELEGRAM.) OTTAWA, 17th June. There is a threat of a strike of postal employees, throughout Canada in protest against the downward revision of pay. The Dominion Federation of Employees and Officials has advised the public through the newspapers to post important mail before noon on Wednesday. The Premier, Mr. Mackenzie King, informed the House of Commons that the Government had received no official advice from the postal employees of the threatened strike. He explained that the Civil Service Commission tmdertook the revision of postal workers' salaries as part of the general revision of pay of the entire Civil Service, and ■.until the commission liad completed its work, ho thought the Government could not properly consider the whole situation or make any recommendation to Parliament. .
