INADEQUATE TRAINING ARRANGEMENTS. "

(AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 13th June. Intending competitors at the Olympic Games are experiencing many difficulties m connection with their training arrangements. Boxers, cyclists, athletes and swimmers each train in different parts of Pans, long distances from their hotels. Tho Australian athletes, who arrived yesterday, found that no facilities whatever had been provided. The authorities state that Colombes itself is not available for training purposes. The athletes declare that the special training track is too heavy and unsuitable, lacking facilities for hurdlers and jumpers. Those who visited the Colombes racing track today say the track is soft, with many holes.' Most of the visiting teams are expected here next week. The Australians are wondering how they will fare. Tile Americans are training in their own country, and will not arrive until 24th Juiie.
The 26 days of football, which started on ■ 15th May, concluded last Monday with the victory of Uruguay in the Association Championship. Fifteen days of polo competition start next Thursday, while other branches starting this month are: Target-and trap shooting, 21st June to 29th June; fencing (foil, sabre, and duelling sword), afternoons and evenings, 28th June to Bth-July. On 23rd and 24th June a fete will be held com-' memorativo of the thirtieth anniversary of the re-establishment of tho Olympic Games. On the morning of the first day the ceremony will commence in Notre Dame Cathedral, concluding in the afternoon at the Sorbonne. The whole of the second day's performances will take place in the Opera House. The whole of July will be occupied by the games, which will conclude on 27th, leaving the three final days of the month for the Olympic Committee to clean up the final details.
