BAGDAD, 29th January;
Out of forty defiant Mesopotamian sheiks summoned to meet the Government three, responded. In view of the necessity of securing the safety of visiting officials aitd to prevent warlike pre? parations, the. Government ordered an air action. The Air Force moved forward, troops protecting the aerodromes. Aero-plan.es bombed continuously for 24 hours. All the sheiks surrendered. Mounted police visited-^other districts and received .other sheiks' assurances of implicit obedience.
