GOOD SCORE BY HUTT.

Batting first in their match with Wellington, on the Hutt Recreation Ground, Hutt compiled a total of 234 runs, the main scorers being M'Kay and M'Girr. The latter just missed another century by the small margin of three runs. The wicket was in good order, and the bowling was never of the really dangerous variety, although Good troubled the batsmen at times. M'Girr played a forceful innings, but should have been out when lie. had six to his credit. He weakly returned a ball to Napier, but the Irundler failed to hold it. It was a costly miss, for the Hutt captain made amends by punishing the leather in fine fashion, his total including a large number" of boundaries. M'Kay, who partnered M'Girr for some time, played an attractive' innings, and had 40 to his credit when he was held by Hiddleston, off Marris. Other double-figure scorers were Tattersall (15), Lockett (22), and Hughes (18). The latter lost his wicket through a misunderstanding with M'Girr, being run out. Good, with three wickets for 35, was the most successful Wellington trundler, and Napier, with three for 72, also bowled fairly well. Wellington, went to the crease at 5.45 o'clock, and,at stumps had lost one wicket for 39, the riot-cut men being Hiddleston and White. Wilson was dismissed lbw to Watson when his total was 18.
