HALIBUT FISHERY TREATY

(AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) WASHINGTON, 20th November Tho Halibut Treaty between Canada and the United States providing for a close season and a joint commission to regulate the North Pacific halibut fishing, is to be resubmitted to the United States Senate. The treaty was ratified by the Senate last March, but with a provision making it applicable to all British subjects. It is understood that when it is resubmitted an attempt will be made to secure its ratification in the form in which it was signed. Tho treaty occasioned controversy, as the British Ambassador was not invited to sign it.
