PENSIONS APPEAL BOARD

The first meeting of the War Pensions Appeal Board was held yesterday when preliminary matters were considered. The board will sit again on Tuesday m the old Legislative Council Chamber, Parliamentary Buildings, to hear cases. . His Honour Sir Frederick Chapman is chairman of the board, and his associate, Mr. Eric Millton, has been appointed secretary of the board The Minister of Defence (the'Hon Suit. Heaton Rhodes) has made the following appointments to the board on behalf of the Government: Dr R Campbell Begg, M.C. (Wellington); Dr. Stuart Moore (Dunedin). Two- further Government medical members representing Auckland and Christchurch have yet to be appointed. Yesterday's preliminary meeting was attended by Sir Frederick Chapman Dr Begg, and Dr. F. T. Bowerbank (returned soldiers' nominee).
